The Nickajack Men are a five-piece band from Falkirk, who pitch there style somewhere between alternative-country and indie rock. The band features vocalist and guitarist Lewis White, guitarist and vocalist Michael Garner, bassist Jamie Burns, drummer Matthew McAlister and Lewis Rolland on Keys. Having all grew up in the same town with a similar interest in music, they decided to form The Nickajack Men.
With heavy influences from bands such as The Replacements, The War on Drugs, The Rolling Stones and The Alabama Shakes, the band started writing their own music while playing local shows and gaining valuable live experience. The Nickajack Men released their first single “Gordo” in July 2016 celebrating their debut release with a sold out show at King Tuts Wah Wah Hut in Glasgow.
The ambitious young band were awarded 2015 Best Newcomers, 2016 Best Alternative/Indie Act, 2016 Best Song for their single “Hurricane” and 2017 Best Alternative/Indie Act at the Alternative Music in Falkirk Awards. They have steadily gained a following and played significant supports slots with The Districts, The View & Louis Berry. In May 2018 The Nickajack Men released Double A sided Single’s “Changed Ways” & “Different Languages” via Glasgow Label Electric Honey Records. “Changed Ways” received support from BBC Radio Scotland DJ’s Billy Sloan and Vic Galloway. Enjoying a strong year The Nickajack Men also appeared at Festivals such as Shuffle Down Festival, Xpo North, Belladrum Tartan Hearts Festival and entertained a headline slot on the breakthrough stage at Party At The Palace.
