The Poachers are a musical duo consisting of Neil Donaldson and Seb Jonsen.

Neil sang lead vocals with Figure 5, releasing the album Bonfire in 2010 and Red Sands whose self titled album from 2013 has become something of a lost classic.

It was with The Beatroots where he would first team up with Seb, with a love of obscure 60s Psych and Mod tunes drenched in sitar.

Seb has played drums with The Hardy Souls, Peter Daltry’s Kaleidoscope, Helicon, Tomorrow Syndicate and Lavinia Blackwall/Stilton.

They started writing songs together in the Spring of 2016 and with the help of friend Graham Smith began recording demos in his Prestwick loft. This has now led to over 2 albums worth of material. Songs about love and loss, friendships, family…and football managers!

They very much carry on the tradition of artists such as The Humblebums, Lindsfarne, Steeleye Span, The Waterboys, Sandy Denny, Ocean Colour Scene, Mark Knopfler, The Proclaimers, Paul Weller, The Pogues and Shack. As well classic North American songwriting from Tom Paxton, Gene Clark and Neil Young through to Kurt Vile, Woods and Real Estate. Folk music but file under “Rock and Pop”…Rich in melody and love.

Songs for drinking and smoking, walking and dreaming, singing and dancing, crying and laughing.

Music from the heart with no gimmicks.
